Many people have turned to Weight Watchers to learn healthy habits and lose weight. The key to the Weight Watchers Program is that all foods have an assigned number of points. You choose a total number of daily points that fall within a healthy range that supports your weight-loss goals. You must keep track of how many points each food item is worth, so points become highly valuable. Less healthy foods that are high in calories and fat are assigned higher point values and healthier foods are assigned lower points. Due to their nutritional value and exceptionally low caloric content, some foods are considered “free” and a you can eat as many as you like without consequence. To remain compliant with point values, you must make reasonable choices. If you like coffee, you can still drink it with Weight Watchers.

Regular Brewed Coffee

A 10-oz. cup of brewed coffee has 0 Weight Watchers points. If you want to add cream, substitute cream for skim milk to avoid adding any additional points. You can choose caffeinated or decaffeinated. MayoClinic.com warns that more than two cups of caffeinated coffee per day can lead to dehydration so consider decaffeinated coffee or increase your water intake to avoid this condition.

Regular Brewed Espresso

A 1-oz. serving of espresso, also known as a shot of espresso, has 0 points if consumed in its pure form. Similar to coffee, you must balance your fluid consumption to avoid dehydration. Espresso is considered an acceptable alternative to coffee and doesn’t generally contain more caffeine than a standard cup of coffee.

Latte

A latte is a coffee drink composed of one shot of espresso and 8 to 9 oz. of steamed milk. To add flavor and aroma, a flavored syrup is sometimes added.
